I hope this gives you a little insight into who I am. Most importantly when I am asked where do you see yourself in the future? I see myself in a mentoring role.
My belief
But where was I before the Hotel industry?
ACT 1
Before I joined the hotel industry, I worked myself up the ladder in the world of hospitality management. I evolved from a reservationist at Central Holiday Tours in Jersey City to becoming its first woman VP of the company.

Before I joined the hotel industry, I worked myself up the ladder in the world of hospitality management. I evolved from a reservationist at Central Holiday Tours in Jersey City to becoming its first woman VP of the company.
After a few years, I went abroad to live in Rome Italy for seven years and worked on special projects for the tour company, during that time I was able to gain full knowledge of the Italian language and culture.
I transferred back to the U.S. with the same company and opened and headed the Regional Southeast division of Central Holiday Tours in Miami. Here I traveled the Southeast in the position of Regional Sales Manager for customer retention and acquisition. I really enjoyed this time in my career. The company was sold and I took advantage of breaking out on my own.
ACT 2
Shortly after, I opened my own tour company, Lupatours, specializing in special interest groups to Europe and incoming large incentive groups to Miami. With the decline of International Travel after 911, I found myself reinventing my career path and found my passion in the Hotel Industry right in her own backyard.
ACT 3
Johnson & Wales University called and so my hotel career began. I worked at their practicum hotel (The Bay Harbour Inn)- a few years later sought after by Hilton and worked for the brand in two of their top brands. After Hilton, I rose to the ranks with Hyatt hotel as Director of Sales & Marketing for the Victor Hotel; after 7 year's I was recruited at the Pelican Hotel as General Manager.
I oversaw the Pelican Hotel as its General Manager before the 2019 renovation. Directly responsible for the Operations, Staff training, Guest satisfaction, all creative briefing and brand, Digital Graphics, OTA's contracts, and Yield Management.

2019 - 2021
In July 2019 I was retained by the Pelican hotels ownership team to oversee the closing of the Pelican Hotel. During that time, I have been responsible for upgrading the PMS system from Opera V5 to Opera Cloud. I migrated the hotel to Opera Cloud taking ownership of Opera Cloud eLearning certification- managing the WebHotel booking page -OTA connectivity and social media pages. Up until September 2022, was also responsible for creating the interim hotels' website (https://www.pelicanhotel.com using Godaddy and WordPress.

An eye for Design and Desire to keep growing:

I was also assigned the responsibility of working with local artisans on the restoration of all of the antique furnishings, artifacts, and vintage clocks during the renovation period for the Pelican Hotel. This was also a great transformation

October 2022, Hotel Opening
About me:
I served as president of the SKAL International Miami chapter and was past president of South by Southeast. I'm very active in the community with special city projects benefitting people in need. I was born in Havana, Cuba, and raised in New Jersey, I have a hospitality graduate degree and reside in Miami Beach.

Legal Services of South Florida -the largest provider of broad-based civil legal services
for the poor in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties,
Soap For Hope- Salvage the hotels' soap slivers and turn them into new soap bars. Enhancing the livelihood in poor countries for the local community through recycling and reprocessing soap
My passion is traveling the Globe, Floriculture, and the Ocean. I'm a creature of the outdoors. I have enjoyed every stage of my career but most of all I enjoy learning new avenues from which to grow and then apply to my day-to-day life, roles and responsibilities.
